On January 6th, Blueprint teamed up with College Initiative, part of the Prisoner Reentry Institute at John Jay College, to present a 3 hour panel discussion on Supported Education. The event was organized by the CUCS Academy for Justice Informed Practice, and presented a novel view of Supported Education work, combining the mental health focus of Blueprint with College Initiative's expertise in education for justice involved students. The panel included both staff and student participants from both programs, and covered topics including first-person perspectives, the ADA and student rights, anti-stigma advocacy, and academic wellness planning. It was an excellent opportunity to connect with PRI and spread the word about the importance of Supported Education.
