The Blueprint Team

Jonathan Payne, Supported Education Specialist

JonathanI'm a graduate of NYU where I received a Master’s in Dramatic Writing. I also studied theatre in the United Kingdom and received a BA from the Guildford School of Acting. Although my background is rooted in theatrical performance, I champion the arts as a great strength in furthering educational goals and entering the workforce. An arts education is great in building self-esteem, collaboration and creativity. I am thrilled to be working with Blueprint and look forward to supporting people towards their educational goals.

dana websiteI graduated from Mount Holyoke College, where I received my BA in English, and Howie The Harp Advocacy Center, where I trained as a Peer. While education always rooted and fulfilled me, it also challenged me in ways that could feel insurmountable. My passions include the impact of internalized stigma on self-limitation and human-animal bonds as pathways to heal. I consider it a privilege to bring each of these perspectives to my work at Blueprint and look forward to walking alongside you as you achieve your goals.

jay website pictureI graduated from Rhode Island College where I completed a dual BA/MA in Psychology. Education has always provided me with a safe place to feel seen and heard while simultaneously fostering a sense of independence and self-advocacy from the challenges education can also bring.  Being the first person to graduate from higher education in my immediate family, I have first-hand experience of navigating the higher education system and not being able to always rely on those closest to me for help. I learned how to advocate and find resources for myself that helped me to graduate. I am excited to use this experience and my joy of connecting individuals to resources and opportunities in this role. I look forward to connecting with you to learn how Blueprint can help you and who you want to become.

During my first years at Community Access, I was a volunteer in supported housing, then became a Service Coordinator where a passion for fostering residents’ education interests emerged. In Fall 2015, I joined Blueprint — then, a new initiative — as a Supported Education Specialist. For the first five years, I travelled around the five boroughs to support participants directly. In Fall 2019, I became program director, where I still get to cover meetings from time to time. In all of my roles, it has been an honor to be a part of hundreds of education journeys. Access to quality education is a human right, and I am passionate about support for adults learners. I am a graduate of the NYC public school system, and of Hampshire College where I received a BA in Liberal Arts.
