May 17, 2016 - Blueprint at Urban Justice Center Advocacy Workshop

Urban Justice Center Presentation

On Tuesday May 17th, Blueprint joined the Urban Justice Center for their ongoing community advocacy workshop series. This project focuses on macro-level policy and advocacy issues relevant to citizens of NYC, especially those who are at the intersections of multiple social justice issues. Blueprint gave a workshop examining the main principles of Supported Education through the lens of civil rights and equal access to higher education. The discussion was lively and covered topics related to legislation protecting students like the Americans with Disabilities Act, and growing social movements to prohibit colleges from inquiring about criminal justice background on applications. We had an excellent time, and look forward to future partnerships! More information about the Urban Justice Center can be found at www.urbanjustice.org
